The six-storey building complex with a hall part was originally built in the 1980s as the headquarters of the District Committee of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia according to the project by Jan Třeštík, the author of the interiors was Jan Bočan. Currently it is the seat of the Conservatory, the Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra and other musical organisations.
A partial reconstruction of the interiors of the social part of the House of Music was carried out: 3 halls and the foyer.
