Culture House Holice

The House of Culture is a building from the 1960s by Stefan Imrich. The typical project of a cultural house in the style of the fading socialist realism is undergoing a conservation procedure in 2023. In the basement there is a civil protection shelter with preserved elements of the air conditioning and a connecting control panel.

The building of the cultural house has 1500 m2. The site including the Dr. Emil Holub Museum: 5500 m2 (all owned by the city, the buildings are managed by the KD). The area of the adjacent gardens is 1000 m2. The site is very accessible has a loading ramp for the stage at the rear; at the front directly on the pavement to the entrance max. deliveries.

Interior size: stage: 108 m2, auditorium of the main hall: 181 m2, foyer: 91 m2, entrance lobby: 81 m2, upstairs hall (balcony gallery): 135 m2.

Inside and outside there are electricity connections for standard theatre and music productions and outdoor events.

There is a parking lot with a capacity of 50 cars between the KD and the ZUŠ, and there are 2x 12 parking spaces right next to the museum and the sports hall. For large events, the grassy area behind the ZUŠ is available and the entire Holubova Street is closed.

Catering: there is a café directly in the cultural centre, where they cook lunches, provide refreshments for performers and cater for camps in the summer. Café Zemánek is located just across the road in the Sokol Hall and offers catering.

Staff accommodation: Hotel Erwin Junker (78 beds), dormitory of the Automotive School (holidays and weekends: 43 people).
